ISSA Certified Master Trainer

As a fitness professional, you can have any number of titles. Two within the training realm are personal trainer and master trainer. Here I will explain the difference between these two roles.

A personal trainer must have a basic level of fitness knowledge. They need to understand exercise physiology and nutrition. They have to know how to devise a safe, effective exercise program.

A master trainer has this level of knowledge and at least 4 extra specializations. In addition to personal training basics, they may hold certification in corrective exercise and/or bodybuilding, for instance. Or they might have advanced training in weight management or lifespan coaching.

ISSA Bodybuilding Specialist

Upon completion of the ISSA’s bodybuilding course, you will have all the knowledge necessary to prepare an athlete for a high-level bodybuilding or physique competition.

But many who take this course will never go down that path; for these trainers, the course will provide essential information that can help them train the “everyday” clients who want to look and feel their best. All trainers can benefit from the information in this bodybuilding course, not only individuals looking to enter the sport of bodybuilding!

FMT/PMT Basic Kinesiology Taping Certification - Rocktape

FMT Basic Kinesiology Taping Certification

FMT Basic introduces functional kinesiology taping methods that can improve the movement and performance of patients and clients. It includes a review of current literature supporting the theories that describe and delineate specific techniques of applying kinesiology taping for enhancement of rehabilitation or performance outcomes. Evidence based chapters in this course include topics of technique, theory and practical lab experience in areas such as pain management; edema/swelling control and proprioceptive guidance to enhance postural positioning. Kinesiology taping for scar mobility and symptoms associated with nerve entrapment are introduced in this course.

FMT Basic is an evidence-informed kinesiology taping course that advances students’ understanding of the efficacy of elastic therapeutic taping as a rehabilitation and performance intervention for patient and client conditions ranging from pain mitigation to improving fluid dynamics and sharpening proprioception. FMT Basic methodically examines the research-influenced content basis for a practical framework of ‘taping movement, not muscles’ replacing an outdated model of taping techniques which was focused on directional taping, specific percentages of stretch applied to the tape and the concept of activation or inhibition of muscles.

FMT Advanced Kinesiology Taping Certification

FMT Advanced expands on the concepts taught in FMT Basic Kinesiology Taping and explores strategies to enhance human movement and performance through evidence-based functional taping methods. The anatomy and physiology of myofascial lines will be covered, the fascial lines are used in conjunction with kinesiology taping techniques to support efficient human movement. Sport-specific taping techniques are introduced, and students will have opportunities to assess dysfunction in specific anatomical planes of motion.  Tape application techniques are explored and practiced with an emphasis on taping fascial chains to improve movement and enhance function. Students will learn techniques in a hands-on laboratory environment where they will have ample practice and instructor feedback on their techniques.

These courses are intended for health professionals with all levels of prior taping experience. All supplies needed for the course and lab experiences are provided.

The Functional Movement Training (FMT) Certification Series are presented by industry leading experts in movement, assessment and rehabilitation. CEUs may be offered for DC, ATC, PT, LMTs, LAc, OTs and personal trainers – depending on location and class type.

FMT Blades – IASTM Certification

FMT Blades IASTM Course introduces the concept of movement therapy and performance enhancement with gentle soft tissue techniques. The term IASTM or “Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation” is commonly paired with the image of steel tools and deep tissue work that can cause redness and bruising on the skin.

Current evidence informs us that IASTM techniques don’t need to be aggressive to deliver superior patient outcomes, the tools may be hard, but the techniques are soft. There are many forms of instruments or tools that can assist a clinician or coach’s skills and tools really do save your hands! You don’t have to buy an expensive set of tools and attend a class that locks you into one way of utilizing IASTM on your patients or athletes.  FMT Blades IASTM is a manual therapy and assessment course that encourages students to use clinical reasoning and creativity when incorporating tool work in their practices.

FMT Blades IASTM Course is intended for health professionals with all levels of experience with soft tissue techniques.
